To celebrate the Rugby World Cup, a number of our members who have represented their nation at previous World Cups from New Zealand, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales will be celebrating and participating in events with our charity and community partners in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. We aim to promote these great causes and others in the region which we support, and we are looking to build more partnerships in the business world to support our world projects.

Trevor Leota

Trevor is a New Zealand-born former rugby union player for Samoa. He currently coaches at the Footscray Bulldogs in Melbourne, Australia. Leota was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and won 30 caps for Samoa. He is a hooker and has been widely recognised as one of the hardest tacklers in the game. He was a member of Samoa's 1999 World Cup squad and played for the Barbarians in May 2001.

Tanner Vili

Tanner Vili - is a New Zealand/Samoan rugby union footballer. He plays as a fly-half and full back He played for Samoa at the 1999 Rugby World Cup and 2003 Rugby World Cup. He later joined the NZ Barbarians.

Pat Lam

Pat is a rugby union coach and former player. He is currently Director of Rugby at Bristol Bears in England's Premiership Rugby. He played at loose forward for Auckland, North Harbourand Crusaders, before moving to England where he first played for Newcastle Falcons. In his first season at Newcastle he made 22 appearances as they won the 1997-98 Premiership. However, after that triumph he moved on to Northampton Saints, with whom he won the 1999–2000 Heineken Cup. Lam moved back to Newcastle Falcons for the 2001–02 season. Lam played one game for the All Blacks in 1992 (becoming All Black no. 928), a non-test game against Sydney. He had played for Samoa first in 1991 and went on to captain them and represented them in three World Cups,

Opeta Palepoi

Opeta is a Samoan rugby union footballer, with 48 caps. He currently plays for Scottish side Gala RFC. He has previously played for Glasgow Warriors, Border Reivers and English club Harlequins. His first start for Glasgow Warriors was in season 2002–03. He played in the 2002–03 Scottish Inter-District Championship, the Bank of Scotland Pro Cup, against Border Reivers on 31 December 2002. The Warriors lost the match 21–6.[1] He is 1.95m tall and weighs 106 kg. He was also a part of the Samoa squad at the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

Junior Paramrore

Junior Paramore - is a Samoan former professional rugby union international, During his career, Paramore won 29 caps for the Samoa national rugby union team, taking part in three World Cup campaigns. He is now the principal of his own rugby academy. He is now a coach at Totton College Rugby academy.

Junior Fatialofa

Junior Fatialofa - was born in Wellington, New Zealand He is a rugby union and played for Wellington Lions in the Air New Zealand NPC Fatialofa played for Exeter Chiefs from 2004 to 2008 and signed for Bristol Rugby for 2008-2009 Guinness Premiership.

Elvis Seveali’l

Elvis is a retired Samoan rugby union footballer. He played centre and wing and represented Manu Samoa internationally. He played for Bath during the 2002–03 English rugby season. He made his Heineken Cup debut on 13 April 2003, scoring twice against the Saracens. At the end of the season he scored a try against London Irish in the dying seconds that literally avoided Bath relegation.

Todd Clever

Todd is an American retired rugby union player. He became the first American to play Super Rugby. At the international level, he was a member of the United States national team, served as captain, and is the most capped player in United States rugby union history. He played with the South African Lions franchise in the 2009 Super 14. Clever is the first American player to ever play in the Super 14 and scored the first try for an American in Super 14 against the Hurricanes on March 28, 2009. Clever played for the Lions against the British & Irish Lions.

Maama Molitika

Maama Molitika - is a Tongan former rugby union footballer. He is 6'5". He has played numerous times for the national Tongan team, making his debut in June 1997 against Fiji. He was also in the Pacific Islanders rugby union team squad that toured Europe in 2006. He played as a blind-side flanker.

Viliami Ma’asi

Viliami Ma'asi is an international Tongan rugby union player who plays as a hooker. He spent his entire professional career in England and finished his career in National League One (the third division) with the Ampthill club. Viliami Ma'asi made his first appearance for the Tonga national team on November 16, 1997, against the Wales team. He was selected to participate in the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia, sharing the hooker position with Ephraim Taukafa. During the competition, he played in four matches, including two as a starter.

Epi Taione

Epi Taione - is a former Tongan rugby union footballer whose last club was London Welsh. He normally played at centre but could cover the wing or back row. He played for Tonga at the 1999 and 2007 Rugby World Cups. He also played for the Pacific Islanders.

Pedro Leal

Pedro is a Portuguese international rugby player and a regular on the World Rugby Sevens World Series circuit. He plays as a fullback or a scrum-half. He is widely considered Portugal's best player in rugby sevens, and in the 2006/07 IRB Sevens World Series he scored 20 tries from eight tournament appearances. He was the top scorer at the 2008 Hannover Sevens event, with 74 points. Leal is one of only nine players to have scored more than 1,000 points in the World Rugby Sevens World Series. Leal has 76 full caps for Portugal. He played three games at the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

Aderito Esteeves

Esteves has played for Rugby Clube de Oeiras, AEIS Agronomiaand Grupo Desportivo Direito, in Portugal, winning four titles of National Champion for the "Lawyers" team in 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11 and 2012/13. Esteves has 34 caps for Portugal, since his first game, a 17-37 loss to Russia, in Lisbon, for the IRB Nations Cup, at 13 June 2006. He wasn't called for the 2007 Rugby World Cup, but has been a regular player for the "Lobos" since then. He has 3 tries scored, 15 points on aggregate for his national team.

Frank Bunce

Frank Bunce is a former New Zealand rugby union player and coach. He played international rugby for both Western Samoa and New Zealand in the 1990s, appearing in the 1991and 1995 World Cups. He played in four international matches for Samoa and 55 for New Zealand (the All Blacks). Bunce coached in Italy from 2001 to 2003, was Auckland's defence coach in 2004 and served as a technical advisor to Samoa in 2005. He is a position-specific coach for the International Rugby Academy in New Zealand.

Luke Thompson

Luke Thompson - is a retired Japaneserugby union player. He played as a lock and occasional flanker. In 2007 he qualified through residency to play for Japan and made his debut in April against Hong Kong. He then became a regular member of the side for all of John Kirwan's reign as Japan coach between 2007 and 2011 representing them at two World Cups. In the 2007 tournament he notably scored 2 tries as Japan pushed Fiji close.

David Corkery

David is a retired Irish rugby union player. In his career (playing at blind-side wing-forward) he played for Cork Constitution, Munster and Bristol, as well as winning 27 caps for Ireland between 1994 and 1999.

Tony Buckley

Tony is a former Irish rugby union player who played Prop. He was one of the heaviest men playing professional rugby, weighing in at 21 st 10 lbs or 138 kilograms (305 lbs). He wore size 16 boots which had to be custom made for him in Germany. In April 2007, Buckley was named in the Irish squad for a tour of Argentina. He was listed among the replacements in the matchday XXII for the first test in Santa Fé on 26 May, during which he gained his first of two caps on the tour. Buckley's competitive debut came in the 2008 Six Nations Championship, when he was introduced for last 10 minutes of Ireland's opening fixture against Italy on 2 February 2008. He scored his first international try a year later against Canada on 24 May 2009, during the summer tour of North America.

Shane Bryne

Shane is a former Irish rugby union hooker. He is nicknamed 'Munch' or ‘Mullet’, He plied his trade for many years at Leinster. His international career started comparatively late and did not blossom until the retirement of Keith Wood. When he eventually got his chance in a World Cup qualifier in Romania in 2001 he took it and thereafter became a fixture in the national side where he won 41 caps between 2001 and 2005, scoring three tries. In 2005 he was selected for the British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand and played in the first and third tests. Byrne has scored a total of three tries for his country, scoring two of those in one match against Wales during the 2004 Six Nations series.

Paddy Johns

Paddy was an Irish rugby union player from 1990 to 2000. He played mainly as a lock and occasionally in the back-row. He won 59 caps, scoring 4 tries and 20 points. He had his international debut, on 27 October 1990 against Argentina, in Dublin, in a match won 20–18, and his final appearance came on 11 November 2000, with Japan, in a win of 78–9, again in Dublin. He played at the 1995 Rugby World Cup and the 1999 Rugby World Cup. He also played for the Ireland national rugby sevens team at the inaugural 1993 Rugby World Cup Sevens, where Ireland reached the semi-finals, its best ever finish in a Rugby World Cup Sevens.

James Downey

James is a former Irish rugby union player. He played as a centre. Downey's form for Northampton saw him earn a place in the Ireland A team for the 2009 Churchill Cup. He came off the bench in the opening fixture on 10 June 2009 against Canada, before starting against Georgia on 14 June. Downey had to settle for an appearance off the bench again as Ireland A beat England Saxons 22–49 to win the 2009 Churchill Cup Final. On 2 June 2013, Downey was added to the senior Ireland squad to tour North America. He made his senior debut for Ireland on 15 June 2013, starting against Canada.

Geordan Murphy

Geordan is an Irish rugby union rugby coach and player who retired from the professional game as the most-decorated man in Premiership Rugby history. He played as fullback or wing for the Irish international team and the English club Leicester Tigers as well as for the British & Irish Lions. Murphy was chosen to captain Ireland against the New Zealand Maori in June 2010.[12] On 11 September Murphy was picked to start in the first match of the 2011 Rugby World Cup since Rob Kearney was injured. Ireland won the game 22–10 against the United States. He came on then to replace Keith Earls in the Russia game.

Gavin Duffy

Duffy is a former international rugby unionfootballer who primarily played at full back. He last played professionally for Irish provincial side Connacht Rugby, in the Pro12, and represented Ireland at full international level. In November 2001, he won his first Ireland A cap against New Zealand at Ravenhill and his performances for Harlequins in the 2003–04 European Challenge Cup saw him called into the senior Ireland squad for the first time for the 2004 tour to South Africa. He won his first cap on that trip when coming on as a replacement during the second test. In February 2005, he won his second cap when again coming on as a replacement against Scotland, marking the occasion by scoring his first international try. He was selected to play at outside centre for Ireland in both summer Tests in Japan in 2005, scoring two tries in the second Test.

Sonny Toi Parker

Sonny Toi Parker - is a Welsh rugby union footballer who played for the Wales national rugby union team. He retired from Wales because of the demands of international rugby at the end of 2005 but was brought back by Gareth Jenkins for the 2006 Autumn internationals, and was subsequently selected in Wales' 2007 World Cup squad. Parker finished his Welsh career with 31 caps and six tries.

Robert Sidoli

Robert Sidoli - is a former Welsh international rugby union player.He has won 42 caps for Wales as a lock forward. Sidoli won his first cap for Wales as a replacement against South Africa in 2002. After good performances in the 2003 Rugby World Cup, he missed most of the 2004 Six Nations Championship with a groin injury. He was in the starting line-up for all Wales matches in the Grand Slam-winning team of 2005, and scored his first international try against Italy during that tournament.

Jon Bryant

Jon Bryant - is a former Wales Rugby union international. He attained his only international cap as a replacement against Romania on 27 August 2003.

Ian Gough

Ian Gough - is a former Wales international rugby union rugby player. His usual position was lock forward. He made his debut for the Wales national rugby union team against South Africa in 1998, and was a regular thereafter, including playing in the 2006 Six Nations Championship, and the mid year series against Argentina. He also played within the Irish under-19 international team. On 18 January 2010 he was named in the 35 man Wales national Squad for the 2010 Six Nations tournament.

Gavin Thomas

Gavin Thomas - is a Welsh former international rugby union player who played as a flanker. He played his club rugby for Tondu, Bridgend, Bath, the Ospreys, the Scarlets and the Newport Gwent Dragons, and was capped 24 times for Wales. Thomas made his senior international debut for Wales on their 2001 tour of Japan, taking advantage of the senior players being absent on the Lions tour to Australia. He started the test matches on 10 and 17 June, scoring his first two tries for Wales in the second test.

Darren Morris

Darren Morris - is a former Wales international rugby union player who also represented the British & Irish Lions. He moved to Texas in 2015 as Director of Rugby for Griffins Rugby in Dallas, Texas, USA. Darren Morris began his international career at the age of 15 for Wales U-15's. Morris continued to play international rugby with both Welsh schools (U-18's) which he captained and then moving onto Welsh Youth (U-19's), and Welsh U-21's. Although Morris was selected for Wales in 1996, injury prevented him from being able to play. He made his Senior Wales début on 6 June 1998 against Zimbabwe. He played in the 2001 Six Nationsand Morris played on the 2001 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia.

Collin Charvis

Collin Charvis - is a former captain of the Wales national rugby union team and also played for the British & Irish Lions. A back row forward, Charvis was equally adept as a flanker or as the no. 8. Charvis became the world record try scorer for a forward in test match rugby on 24 November 2007 v South Africa at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff with his 22nd international try. Charvis has two caps for the British & Irish Lions; both appearances were against Australia in 2001.

Chris Wyatt

Chris Wyatt - is a Welsh international rugby union player whose career as a lock forward lasted from 1998 to 2003, during which he attained 38 caps for the Wales national rugby union team. His international debut came four days before his 25th birthday in the 6 June 1998 49–11 winning game against Zimbabwe at Harare. He was selected for the Wales squad in the 1999 and 2003 Rugby World Cups.

Ben Evans

Ben Evans - is a former international Wales rugby union player. A prop, he has played for Ospreys, Cardiff Blues and Calvisano. He has played for Jersey and Moseley RFC.

Allan Bateman

Allan Bateman - is a Welsh former rugby union and rugby leaguefootballer who played in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. He is a dual-code rugby international centre who represented the British and Irish Lionsat rugby union,[2][3] and Great Britain at rugby league. As a centre for Neath, Bateman gained four caps for Wales in 1990 before moving to rugby league with Warrington Wolves. He returned to rugby union after it went professional in 1996 to gain a further 31 Wales caps and one for the British and Irish Lions in 1997.

Dominic Day

Day played rugby union at the age of eight[citation needed], and at the age of 15 starting as a Number 8before being moved to the second row. The PE teacher at Pembroke School, Neil Truman, recommended Day for the Pembrokeshire 'Elite' squad, and at the age of 18, he was invited to join the Scarlets' academy.[3] Around the same time, he applied to the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) to study for a degree in sports science. In his first year there, he played for the university rugby team, then Scarlets feeder club Carmarthen Quins RFC in his second year, before joining Llanelli RFC for the 2005–06 season in his final year.[3] He made his debut on 21 January 2006. At international level, Day played has played for Wales at under-19, under-21 and Senior levels. In 2004, he played in the U19 World Championships in South Africa, and earned 10 caps overall for the under-19s. The following year, he also participated in the U21 World Championships in Argentina before being selected for the same tournament in France in 2006. In total, he earned 15 caps for the under-21s.[10] In June 2015, Day was named in Wales' initial training squad for the World Cup later in the year.[11] Day made his full international debut aged 29 in the starting line-up for Wales against Ireland on 8 August 2015. In January 2016, Day was named in the Wales squad for the Six Nations Championship.

Jevon Groves

His usual position is back row forward. Groves played for Cardiff RFC, Glamorgan Wanderers RFC and Cross Keys RFC. He made his debut for Newport Gwent Dragons against the Ospreys7 May 2010 as a second-half replacement. In the 2016–17 season, he joined Hong Kong Football Club (rugby section), playing in the Hong Kong Premiership. He is a Wales Under 19 and Under 20 international. Groves captained the Wales Sevens team for the 2010 Commonwealth Games rugby sevens tournament.

Simon Webster

Simon is a former rugby union player that played for Edinburgh and Scotland on the wing and centre. He was quick and creative player known for his pace and committed approach to the game. Starting on the wing in later years he was noticed to have bulked up considerably and moved into the centre playing in the number 13 jersey. Simon Webster made his Scotland debut against Ireland in a World Cup warm-up match in 2003, and although he didn't make into the squad for the tournament he became a regular during the 2004 Six Nations.

Simon Taylor

Simon Taylor - is a Scottish retired professional rugby union footballer who played for Bath Rugby, Stade Français and Edinburgh Rugby. He played as a back-row forward, usually a number eight. Taylor made his first appearance for Scotland in the November 2000 Autumn Test against the USA. In summer 2001 he made a try-scoring debut for the British & Irish Lions in their 116–10 victory over Western Australia. He scored his first test try in the match against Canada on the 2002 tour in which he started at openside flanker and then made some pile-driving contributions when he was fielded at No 8 against the USA. He scored his first try in a Murrayfield Test match in Scotland’s 30–22 March 2003 win against Wales. He was named Lloyds TSB Man of the Match for his display against Italy in the 29–12 Scotland victory in February 2002.

Scott Hastings

Scott Hastings - is a Scottish sports commentator and former Scotlandinternational rugby union player. He then won 65 full senior caps at centre for Scotland from 1986 to 1997. Although sometimes overshadowed by his brother Gavin, Scott Hastings is himself one of the greatest players in Scottish rugby history.[9] Both brothers earned their first full senior cap on 17 January 1986 against France.

Rory Lawson

Rory Lawson - is a Scottish former rugby union player who played his career in Scotland and England as a scrum half. He won 31 caps for Scotland. He gained his first international cap against Australia in the autumn of 2006, coming on as a substitute. He faced strong competition for the scrum-half position in the Scotland side from Mike Blair and Chris Cusiter, both of whom were British and Irish Lions. but still managed to captain Scotland. Lawson was a member of Scotland's 2007 Rugby World Cup squad.

Nikki Walker

Nikki Walker - is a Scottish rugby union player coach for Hawick RFC, who is retired from international competition having won 24 caps for Scotland. He has played on the wing for teams in Scotland, Wales and England, winning the Pro12 twice with the Ospreys. He made his first appearance for Scotland in more than four years as a replacement against Wales in the Six Nations 2007. He also started for Scotland against France, four weeks later, and scored a try in the seventh minute. He then scored his next try against Canada in the 2009 autumn Test in Aberdeen, repeating this again this time against Samoa in the 2010 autumn Test. He then scored his first Murryfield try for four years against Italy in the 2011 Six Nations Match.

Marcus di Rollo

Marcus di Rollo - is a retired Scottish rugby union footballer. He played as a centre for Toulouse, Edinburgh, and the Scottish national team.Di Rollo earned his first cap as a second-half substitute in the 65–23 victory against the USA on the 2002 summer tour. He also made a try-scoring debut in the uncapped game against the Barbarians in May 2001 with an interception try. Scotland were grateful for the intervention of Marcus Di Rollo in the Autumn Test against Samoa in November 2005.

Kelly Brown

Kelly Brown - is a Scottish rugby union coach and former player. He won 64 caps for the Scotland national team, and played club rugby for Glasgow Warriors, Border Reivers and Saracens as a flanker. Brown made his debut for the Scottish national side on 5 June 2005 in a match against Romania where he scored a try. Brown was in the Scotland squad for the 2007 Rugby World Cup, when he made five appearances (four as substitute), and scored a try in the pool match against Portugal. On 30 October 2012 it was announced that, after a lengthy injury that ruled him out of the 6 nations, Brown would return to captain Scotland for his 50th cap in the first Autumn test of 2012 against New Zealand, becoming the 32nd player to win 50 or more cpas. In all he played for Scotland on 64 occasions, with 14 as captain. Brown also played Scotland rugby sevens team, competing in the 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Hong Kong. scoring two tries as Scotland reached the last eight of the tournament.

Jason White

Jason White - is a Scottish former rugby union footballer. He was a utility forward who played in the second or back row of the scrum – lock, flanker, or number eight. He won 77 capsplaying for Scotland, captaining the side on 19 occasions. White was named the new captain of the Scotland national team by Scotland coach Frank Haddenafter an injury to Jon Petrie. White led them for the first time in the test against Argentina at Murrayfield on 12 November 2005. He also led them in the famous win against France on 4 February 2006 at Murrayfield when he earned his 50th Scottish cap. Shortly after he led Scotland to another famous victory, 18–12 over the 'Auld Enemy' at Murrayfield, therefore recovering the Calcutta Cup. He received the Man of the Match award for his outstanding contribution to the victory. In the final fixture, White hit (in a legal tackle) Andrea Lo Cicero so hard that it forced a penalty for holding on. This penalty was kicked by Chris Paterson to secure a 13–10 victory for Scotland. The tackle was similar to the one on Joe Worsley in the Calcutta Cup match which snuffed out the final England attack.

Graeme Morrison

Graeme Morrison - is a retired Scottish rugby union footballer. He played for Glasgow Warriors and Scotland as a Centre. He has represented Scotland at under-21 level. Morrison played in all four tests against Australia in 2004. He scored his first international try in the win over Japan at McDiarmid Park in the same year. Since then, he has gone on to win more than 30 test caps for Scotland. He was recalled to the Scotland team for the first time in four years, for the Calcutta Cup tie against England on 8 March 2008,

Gavin Kerr

Gavin Kerr - is a retired rugby union footballer who played prop on either side of the scrum. He debuted for Scotland in the February 2003 game against Ireland but became a regular starter for Scotland after his solid performance against New Zealand in the Autumn Test series.

David Hilton

David Hilton - is an English-born former Scotland international rugby union player. He was capped 42 times for the Scotland national rugby union team. During his club career, Hilton won the Heineken Cup for Bath in 1998,[1] as well as league and domestic cup successes for the same club. He gained his first cap for the Scotland against Canada on 21 January 1991 and his 42nd and final cap against South Africa on 16 November 2002.

Craig Chalmers

Craig Chalmers - is a former Scotland international rugby union player and coach. He represented Scotland, the British Lions and the Barbarians at international level. He made 60 international appearances as a player for the Scotland national team and scored 166 points. He played at fly-half with his playing career beginning at Melrose in the amateur era and with the professional era seeing him play Border Reivers and Glasgow Warriors before moving on to English sides Harlequins, Worcester Warriors and Pertemp Bees. He had coaching roles with Melrose and the Scotland national under-20 rugby union team. He was capped 60 times for Scotland, 56 times in his preferred position of fly-half, but on occasion at centre and once as a substitute on the right wing. He was noted for his tactical kicking, support play, game management, & tackling which was something that fly halves of his time were not noted for. His call up to the British Lions came just four months after his international debut. He went on the 1989 British Lions tour to Australia and played in the first test.

Chris Cusiter

Chris Cusiter is a retired Scottish international rugby union player who played at scrum-half. Cusiter made his first start for Scotland in the 2004 Six Nations match against Wales. Cusiter was named as joint-captain Captain along with Mike Blair for the Autumn internationals of 2009 and the 2010 Six Nations Championship. Cusiter went on the 2005 British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand making one appearance as a substitute against Argentina

Bruce Douglas

Bruce Douglas - s a former Scottish rugby union rugby player. He played as a prop. Douglas won his first cap for Scotland in the 37–10 win against Romania in November 2002. He played in all three of Scotland's victories in the 2002 tour of North America. In 2003, Douglas scored his first try for Scotland in the 30–22 victory over Wales. He toured South Africa with Scotland in 2003 and his work-rate earned him recognition on the 2004 tour of Australia.

Andrew Henderson

Andrew Henderson - is a Scottish rugby union footballer who played at centre; who was capped 53 times and scored eight tries for Scotland. Playing as a centre, apart from one outing on the wing (versus Wales 2004), he made his debut in the blue of Scotland in 2001 as a second-half replacement against Ireland. The Scots won 32–10 with Henderson scoring the fourth try. His final game for Scotland was in 2008.

Fergus Thompson

Fergus is a Scottish rugby union hooker who plays for Glasgow Warriors. He was a member of the Scotland squad for the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France. Thomson made his Celtic League début in November 2004 for Glasgow Warriors against the Border Reivers. He won his first international cap, aged 23, on 11 August 2007 against Ireland at Murrayfield; Scotland won the match 31–21.

Max Evans

Max Evans is a rugby union player who has won 44 caps for Scotland. He earned his first cap for Scotland against Canada in November 2008. He scored his first try for Scotland on 8 February 2009, after coming on as a substitute for his younger brother, Thom, in the 2009 Six Nations Championship match against Wales. Thom, who also played for the Glasgow Warriors, was later forced to retire from rugby on 1 July 2010 as a result of a spinal injury he sustained in Scotland's 2010 Six Nations Championship match against Wales.

Thom Evans

Thom is a Scottish former international rugby union player and model. He last played on the wing for Glasgow Warriors in the Celtic League. Evans's rugby career ended aged 24 on his tenth appearance for Scotland when he suffered a serious neck injury. He earned his first cap for the Scottish rugby union side in June 2008 vs Argentina. He was selected in the pre 6 Nations 30-man squad for the 2008 Six Nations.

Tommy Seymour

Tommy is a Scottish former professional rugby union player. He made 55 international appearances for the Scotland national rugby union team 2013–2019, scoring 20 tries which placed him fourth-top try scorer for the country. He played in two world cups and the 2017 British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand. His regular playing position is wing. In April 2017 Seymour was named as one of two Scottish players selected for the initial British & Irish Lions squad to tour New Zealand in June and July.[9] While not featuring in any of the test matches he appeared in four games on tour scoring one try against the Highlanders and two tries against the Hurricanes. His three tries meant he was the leading try scorer on tour.

Andy Vilk

England capt - is the responsabile tecnico ‘head coach’ of rugby 7s national side for Italy. A rugby union player who played at centre for Calvisano. He played in the forwards for England Sevens and captained the side in Hong Kong. He has played for Sale Sharks and Northampton saints. He is a strong and powerful runner. In February 2005, Vilk made his England Sevens debut in Wellington and was a member of the winning side at the 2006 Hong Kong Sevens, he also won a Commonwealth medal (silver) at Melbourne. He has also been a member of winning sides at tournaments in Dubai, Los Angeles and Wellington in the IRB World Sevens Series. He has played 32 tournaments for England (26 consecutive): 30 IRB World Sevens Series Tournaments, 1 Commonwealth Games and the Rugby Sevens World Cup in Dubai 2009.

Lee Dickson

Lee is an English professional rugby union player who plays at scrum-half for Bedford Blues in the RFU Championship. Dickson played 49 times for Newcastle Falcons between 2004–2008 and 256 games for Northampton Saints between 2008–17. He played for the England national side 18 times between 2012–14. In 2008, Dickson played for England Saxons in the side that defeated Ireland A. He was also called up to the England squad for the 2008 Six Nations Championship. In 2012, Dickson made his debut for the full national team off the bench in England's 6 Nations match with Scotland, in which England won 13-6 and retained the Calcutta Cup. Subsequently, the England scrum half played four of the five games on the South African tour in June 2012. His last appearance in the England jersey is when he played against the All Blacks during the 3-test series in summer 2014. Dickson has since earned 18 caps for England.

Alex Tait

Alex is a former rugby unionplayer, who played for Newcastle Falcons in the English Premiership. Tait's usual position is fullback, but he can also cover at centre. He made his first team début for Newcastle against Cetransa El Salvador in November 2007. After making his first team debut in 2007, Tait became a regular for the Falcons in his decade at the club. Appearing over 200 times by the close of the 2017-2018 English Rugby Premiershipseason. "He has turned in extremely consistent performances which are right up there at the top," said director of rugby Dean Richards at the time. Acknowledging the hard grafting full-back's service to the Falcons.

Matt Turner

Matt is a South African born rugby union player who currently plays for the Seattle Seawolves in Major League Rugby(MLR). He also played rugby sevens for England on the Sevens World Series circuit between 2008 and 2013. He usually plays as a wing or fullback. Turner qualified to play internationally for England through an English mother and was selected for the England sevens team for the first two legs of the 2009–10 IRB Sevens World Series. He immediately established himself as a regular in the England setup and eventually went on to play a total of 34 Sevens World Series tournaments between 2009 and 2013, scoring 92 tries. In 2012, Turner was nominated for the IRB Sevens Player of the Year award.

Roy Winters

Roy Winters - is a former English rugby union player. A lock, Winters last played in the Aviva Championship for Bristol. He began his career playing for Haywards Heath RFC before becoming professional. Winters was first called up to the senior England squad by Clive Woodward for the 2000 England rugby union tour of South Africa. Winters had a good 2006-07 Guinness Premiership, coming second in the voting for the PRA Player of the Year and then followed up by being selected for the 2007 England rugby union tour of South Africa. He made his debut for England against South Africa in Bloemfontein on 26 May 2007. He was named captain of Bristol for the 2009-10 RFU Championship.

Tim Stimpson

Tim is a former rugby union international full back (and occasional wing). During his career he played for Wakefield, West Hartlepool, Newcastle Falcons, Leicester Tigers, Perpignan, Leeds Tykesand Nottingham, England and the British and Irish Lions. His international career was a start-stop affair, however, he excelled at club level. In particular, during his five-year spell at Leicester Tigers between 1998–2003, as a goalkicker, he was an integral part of the dominant Leicester side that won the league four times in succession to add to back-to-back Heineken Cup, becoming the Premiership's top points scorer in the process. Stimpson went on the 1997 British Lions tour to South Africa.

Roger Uttley

Roger Uttley - OBE is a former English rugby union player, Uttley played 23 games for England both in the second row and the back row, five times as captain, and four tests in the Lions back row on the undefeated 1974 tour to South Africa. He was a member of the famous North team which beat the All Blacks at Otley on 17 November 1979 and went on to play in the England team which won the Grand Slam in 1980, retiring from international rugby later that year. He coached the successful London and South East Divisional side in the mid to late 1980s before working with Geoff Cooke to coach and guide the England XV captained by Will Carling to the final of the 1991 World Cup

Peter Winterbottom

Peter Winterbottom - is a former England rugby union footballer who played as an openside flanker. He was England's most-capped openside (with 58 caps) until being overtaken by Neil Back in 2003. He made his England debut on 2 January 1982 against Australia, and his final appearance on 20 March 1993 against Ireland. Winterbottom was known for his work rate, durability, hard tackling and courage. He was selected on two British and Irish Lions tours in 1983 and 1993, both to New Zealand, where he impressed the locals with his fine play, albeit on losing sides. He was the second England player to reach 50 caps, after Rory Underwood, and was inducted onto the Twickenham "Wall of Fame" in November 2005. Winterbottom played club rugby for Headingley, Harlequins and also for Hawkes Bay in New Zealand and Transvaal in South Africa

Ollie Phillips

Ollie is a former English professional rugby union player. Phillips combined successful careers in both the 15-a-side game and also the Olympic version of the game, Rugby Sevens. Phillips captained England Sevens and was named '7s World Rugby Player of the Year' in 2009 while also pursuing a professional career in 15s with four clubs in England and France, where he was voted 'Overseas Player of the Year' in 2011.

Matt Perry

Matt Perry - is an English former rugby union player who played fullback for Bath. He played internationally for England and the British & Irish Lions. England coach Clive Woodward, selected Perry for his first match in charge against Australia in the autumn 1997. Perry was awarded Man of the Match on his debut. In the Rugby Football Union's 1997/98 awards, Perry was recognised as the young player of the year.

Kevin Yates

Kevin is an English rugby union player who plays at Prop for Nice in the French Fédérale 1, Yates joined Saracens in 2004. In 2007 he was called up for England's tour of South Africa alongside Saracens teammates Matt Cairns and Andy Farrell. Due to Nick Wood being injured, Yates started against South Africa, a record period of time between caps. On this tour he was capped twice; his first senior England caps for 10 years. At the end of the 2007–08 season he moved to Nice

George Chuter

George is an English rugby union ex player who played at Hooker for Leicester Tigers. In 1994–95 Chuter won his first cap for England Colts against Scotland and also went on that year's summer tour to Canada. In 1998 he made a try-scoring debut for England A against France A at Tours, and in the same year went on the senior England 'tour to hell' against Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, featuring in the uncapped match at Invercargillagainst New Zealand Academy. he featured in the 2007 World Cup squad, battling with Mark Regan for the role of first-choice hooker. Chuter was a used replacement in the 2007 Rugby World Cup Final

David Strettle

David is a former English rugby union wing. On 2 May 2007, Strettle was named as the Professional Rugby Player's Association Young Player of the Season. He was also named in the Sky Sports Dream Team for the Guinness Premiership season 2006–07, along with fellow Harlequin and England hopeful Mike Brown. Also in May 2007, Strettle was named in the England Rugby squad to tour South Africa.

Dan Scarborough

Dan is a former rugby union international, at 7's and 15's, who played on the wing or full back for Leeds Tykes, Saracens, Racing Métro and England. He was considered an outside candidate to be part of Clive Woodward's ultimately victorious 2003 Rugby World Cup winning squad. However, he was overlooked in the end, despite getting his first cap against Wales in one of England's warm up games prior to the World Cup, and being in the wider 43-man squad. Scarbrough has also been capped for England in the Sevens, playing in four IRB World tournaments, most notably winning the Hong Kong Sevens Tournament with England in 2004.

William Servat

William is a former French rugby union footballer and is currently an assistant coach for the France national team. Servat played as a hooker for Toulouse in the Top 14 club competition and for France at international level. Servat was regarded as one of the top hookers in the world in the late 2000's, culminating in 2010 Grand Slam & European Cup wins. Servat made his debut for the France national team on 14 February 2004 in a 35–17 victory over Ireland in the 2004 Six Nations Championship. That year, France won the Six Nations Grand Slam, by beating every other team in the competition, with Servat playing in every game. The following year, France came second in the Six Nations, finishing as runners-up to Wales. Servat only made one start in the 2005 tournament, but made three substitute appearances as well.

Serge Betsen

He played his first competitive rugby for the local Clichy based Club Sportif before joining the southern giants Biarritz when he was just 17. Betsen made his first appearance for France aged 23 in 1997, as a replacement against Italy, but did not receive his second call-up until the 2000 Six Nations Championship. Thereafter he became a regular starter in the national team. Nicknamed la Faucheuse (the Grim Reaper), Betsen was regarded as one of the fiercest tacklers in the game, and was also renowned for his high work-rate on the field.

Steffon Armitage

Steffon is an English professional rugby union player who currently plays for French club Stade Niçois. Born in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago in 1985, Armitage grew up in the south of France, where he and his brothers played for Rugby Nice Côte d'Azur Université-Racing. Armitage began his professional rugby career at Saracens, before signing for London Irish in 2006. Armitage started for London Irish in the 2009 Premiership final against Leicester Tigers. At international level, Armitage was a member of the England Saxons squad that won the 2008 Churchill Cup. On 1 July 2008 he was selected to represent the England Saxons again. Armitage was called up for the England elite squad ahead of the 2009 Six Nations Championship to replace the injured Lewis Moody, making his full international debut in England's 36–11 win against Italy in the opening game.He started both matches in England's drawn two test series against Argentina in June 2009. Armitage went on to win two further England caps in the 2010 Six Nations, coming off the bench in England's wins over Wales and Italy.

Olivier Azam

Olivier is a retired French rugby union footballer. A hooker who could also cover prop, Azam spent most of his professional playing career in the English Premiership at Gloucester Rugby. Azam also had 10 caps for France. Renowned for his aggressive, hard hitting mentality, Azam had to compete with Wallabyinternational Jeremy Paul and England international Andy Titterrell for the No. 2 shirt upon his return. Azam was named the player of the season by Gloucester fans for the 2008/09 season.

Sisa Koyamaibole

Sisa Koyamaibole is a Fijian rugby union player. His usual position is at number eight. Koyamaibole also plays for Fiji, including playing in the 2003 Rugby World Cup, the 2007 Rugby World Cup and the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and has played for the Fiji Sevens in rugby sevenstournaments. At club level, he has represented Taranaki, Petrarca Padova, Toulon, Sale Sharks, Lyon OU, Bordeaux Bègles and currently plays for Brive.

Which he has done for over twenty years. Two of his former sporting pupils have risen to international fame.

Bill Cavubati

Bill is a former professional rugby union player. He played for Fiji and his position of choice was tighthead prop. Cavubati's claim to fame is that he is the heaviest player ever to receive the honour of an international cap, weighing in at 167 kg (364 lb, 26 st 0 lb) when he appeared for Fiji against New Zealand in 2005. He played for Wellington in New Zealand throughout the 1990s and his huge size made him a cult hero amongst the fans. "Big Bill" continued to play for a local amateur side and even earned several Fijian caps whilst officially an amateur player.

Nicky Little

Nicky is a New Zealand born rugby union rugby player. He plays at fly-half. He is a nephew of All Blacks centre Walter Little, but represents Fiji at international level. Little made his test debut for Fiji in 1996 in a match against the Springboks in Pretoria, at just 19 years of age. He finished the 2000 and 2001 Pacific Rim tournaments as the top points scorer. He entered the 2003 Rugby World Cup as Fiji's all-time highest points scorer, with 488 points. He got four caps for Fiji at the 2003 World Cup, scoring a total of 45 points in those games. At the 2007 event he starred as Fiji defeated Wales to reach the quarter-finals, but was injured late in the final group game, after straining his medial knee ligaments and missed the quarter-final.

Al Charron

A former Canadian rugby unionrugby player. He played 2nd row and all three loose forward positions at club and international level back-row forward and was capped 76 times for the Canadian national team, the Canucks. In fact he also played briefly in a game at prop when his team was shorthanded after injuries and send-offs suffered by his teammates. He played club rugby for the Ottawa Irish (amateur), professionally in England at Moseley Rugby Football club and Bristol as well as in France at Pau and Dax. Represented the Eastern Ontario union for many years winning the National interbranch championship in 1992 and winning the National provincial championships twice with Ontario in 1995 and 1996.

Eddie Evans

A Canadian former rugby union player who played as prop. Evans first played at club level for UBC Old Boys Ravens until 1992, when he moved to Japan to play for IBM. He debuted for the Canada national team on 8 November 1986, against USA in Tucson. He played three World Cups, in 1987, 1991 and 1995. His last cap for Canada was against Argentina, in Buenos Aires, on 22 August 1998. He retired from his playing career in 2002

Ben Darwin

Ben Darwin - s a former Australian rugby union footballer. A graduate of the Australian Institute of Sport scholarship program[citation needed], he played 28 times for the Wallabies, Australia's national team, from 2001 to 2003. During this time, Darwin played games against the British and Irish Lions and was part of the Wallabies' 2003 Rugby World Cup team. His usual position was tighthead prop,[2] although on occasion he played on the loosehead side. Darwin made his international debut for Australia in June 2001, coming off the bench against the touring Lions in Brisbane. He also played in the 2001 Tri Nations Serieslater that year, and was capped against Spain, England, France and Wales. He played in the 2002 Tri Nations Series, as well as being capped another four times during the end of year tour. He played 11 times for Australia in 2003, and was included in the 2003 World Cup squad

Jeremy Paul

Jeremy Paul - is a New Zealand-born Australia rugby unionplayer. He played hooker for the Wallabies and the ACT Brumbies. He has won 72 caps for Australia and 112 Super Rugby caps for the ACT Brumbies. He made his Gloucester Rugby debut on 27 October 2007 in the Anglo-Welsh EDF Energy Cup against Newcastle Falcons

James Pritchard

James is an Australian-Canadian professional rugby union and rugby league footballer, who currently plays his club rugby union for Ampthill in National League 1 following short spells with Old Albanian and Coventry (where he was player-coach).Pritchard is best known for his time with Bedford Blues, where he spent 12 seasons across two spells with the club, and he is the club's record points scorer with 2,883 points in all competitions, including 99 tries. He is also the RFU Championship all-time top points scorer with 2,673 points from 251 league and play-off games while playing for Bedford Blues and Plymouth Albion (a figure that includes 94 tries), as a fullback, wing or centre. Pritchard has played internationally for Canada, with whom he appeared in four Rugby World Cups, and is his countries all-time top points scorer with 607 points
